I used a text editor and placed the synonyms in that I wanted using the replace option. I still haven't done anything with business plans, business start ups, goal setting, personal success, personal effectiveness, business success, business effectiveness, business operations, nor any of the slang, such as the word biz. These others can effectively jump the keywords in to the thousands rapidly.

Then you can get in to the use of the words forum, blog, website, web site, and site.

Then the site slogan and description....

All bases should be covered for keywords, so you have a better chance to draw in every possible visitor. Plus you have to consider the full SEO package for getting the keywords used both on site and off.

As silent thunder states, using a keyword tool to pick the best 3 to 5 to use the most is the way to go. Using them all, in various ways, is helpful, but doing it with care is important.

I think that with all these keywords, Fergal won't be needing anyone for keyword research anymore. What did you use pendelton? Did you use a keyword research tool like Google's Keyword tool?

Just noticed it now that in the first post, Fergal mentioned that he'll be giving the links to two business related sites. The keywords you've stated above might not be linked to his business sites.

I did those off the top of my head, and used a text editor to replace the various words. You can make a list of thousands of keywords applicable for any site quickly that way. Then you simply run them through the various keyword tools, such as Google's AdWords keyword tool to find the right ones.

In my lists there are several that do not have any data, so, if used, would mean a #1 position.

I used this forum as an example is all.

Hi,

You can use these terms to further improve your search engine optimisation. For example you had been asking about lists of words and which were popular ones. These are the popular ones. Google is all about content. For example in your sig on every post you have links to your twitter, website etc. The link to your own site should be there using one of the terms. Also anywhere you add a link to your website on a 3rd party site should always use one of these terms such as 'business forum (http://www.businessadviceforum.com)' as what will happen (assuming they are good 3rd party links) is that you site will rise for that search term.

You can make more use of landing pages too using those terms (those landing pages being optimised too)

I've only skirted the surface here but hope you get the idea but yes those logs are VERY important.

Also sign up for a free account on crazyegg.com and put that onto yourhomepage for a month and you will get some interesting insight into how people use your site. You can also use another tool called http://www.robotreplay.com to get an insight into how people really use your site as opposed to how you think they might. The arent always the same.
