I am planning to start a small business (offline) on my own and i have started to invest considerable amount of time and money on it now. I want it to be very successful at least in the near future. I would like to get advice from all you guys out there on how to get good result on my venture.

Yep, more info is needed, depending on the type there are several untapped markets and methods one could use to get a good business off the ground quick.

for being successful in business:
be truthful to your customer. treat him as the king!
good marketing strategy for your product/services.
provide good services (if applicable!)

The best tip in my mind to give to a new business guy is this: Ready, Fire, then Aim.
You're the guy who knows best. Your just as smart as anyone else so remember that and execute with confidence in all of your decisions.

Well, first and foremost you'll need to specify the type of venture you are undertaking. Different approaches need to be taken for different projects..
I suppose the rest of the advice is pretty much the same:Honesty and Service are the watchwords here. A customer pleased is a customer retained!

It would have been if you mentioned your small business type. However you make your business successful, you have to friendly to your customer. Advetisements is very much helpful.

Not until the type of business venture is known can a good business plan be developed and business-specific advice be given. Anyway, I guess the best advice when starting any kind of business would be to gain knowledge first on the business that you wanted to start out.
