What do you like to drink?

Yes i know, far from a serious topic and very much like the what are you listening to topic, but i felt that this should go here being as it would be pertaining to alcohol.

this is where you mention... recipes i guess, or stuff you liked/just tried with some friends. anything really. and i feel those that dont drink would naturally just not post here so it should be okay.

anyway... i like wine and i was wondering if anyone could recomend some good red wine.

When it comes to red wine, Chilean ones are always my favourite.

When I'm in a bar I like a cold beer - Coors Light or Becks Vier. I'm particularly fond of Guinness, suppose that's the Irish in me.

I'm not much of a wine or beer connoisseur myself but always personally had a liking for schnapps. I used to ask for shots of Peppermint Schnapps at bars and occasionally purchased a little bottle of mint or cinnamon flavored schnapps for 'home use'. Well this was until I came across an article a couple of years ago about hangovers. The article recommended vodka as the spirit of choice because good vodka has next to no methanol compared to most other drinks, yes even beer and wine have a higher methanol ratio, and almost all of vodka's alcohol content is ethanol.

It turns out methanol takes ten times longer for the liver to break down, so low methanol spirits are the healthiest for you! Methanol aka wood alcohol is also infamous for causing blindness and jaundice. So if you like hard liquor, consider vodka over the others since good quality vodka is easier on your body, there is some science behind it.

Interesting point wormy. I've heard stories of fishermen drinking vodka when they have to go out to sea the next morning, because it gives them less of a hangover than other drinks.

I quit cold turkey eight and a half years ago, but I liked spiced rum mainly, but lots of beer too. For beer Rolling Rock is quite good, very very smooth, mostly in-house micro brews though, as each one was different each time. Gin I tried, but reminded me too much of pine needles, and I never liked the idea of drinking those.

Vodka does not have all the extras in it that the other liquors do, things that add flavor, colour, and taste. A flavored vodka will give more of a hangover then bland vodka. They are called congeners I think, spelling may be off.

I am currently drinking a lot of water. However I don't like beer/larger. I do like some wines and some very strong stuff like Sambuka etc. (I might have spelled that wrong?)

I used to drink that quite regularly. Nowadays I don't touch it. Definitely not good for your health. I've had too many sleepless nights after it and I would be seriously concerned about the impact the combination has on your heart. I've personally experienced something similar to minor heart palpitations the day after drinking it. My advice is stay away from this combination, although I have to admit that it can be great fun at the time.

I recommend Marquis De Saint-Peyre from the year 2000. It's an excellent Bordeaux.

Personally, I'm more into beer. Leffe Bruin is my favorite.

I like almost everything, except for Pinga, aka Cachaça, (most famous brazilian drink) and Tequila, wich, to me, have similar tastes. Although if there's only those to drink, count me in :D

i like to drink anything non alcoholic and caffeine free drinks.
if i drink coffee or cola i will be get up till dawn that is why i am avoiding cola/coffee.

I drink wine and beer! Wine must be good one (I most like shopping in France, when they have a discount prices........and must be the red one........so I regulary visit France just for wine shopping)! For beer it's doesn't mater!

huh i only drink juice and soft drinks and maybe sometimes energy drinks. Power Horse but not Red Bull. I hate Red Bull.

I'm not too much of a drinker myself. I've only been legally allowed to drink for 3 years now, but even so I don't drink very often at all. To be honest, I probably drunk more between the ages of 15-17 than I did since I was legally able to drink... Naughty me. :p

I love a nice glass of red wine, preferably Chilean. One or two glasses is generally enough, I begin to feel a little sleepy after that.
