Hi Cox and welcome to our community.

I enjoy buying books online and Amazon is definitely my favourite shopping site. They have an amazing selection of books and I find the reader recommendations and comments very helpful.

amazon has lot of deals on the same product. You also get a large variety and they have so many sellers that you get the best deal. Also you are protected against fraud.

I have some bad experieince with ebay and I personally prefer amazon or play.com which is more reliable and they ship the goods over normally within 3-4 working days :)

As you are in the Uk Cox, then www.ebay.co.uk will be a great place.

But be careful of Bidding wars - I have seen products sold for higher prices on ebay than elsewhere! Especially "hot" items which people seem to feel a need to snap up before they are gone. Often these items are available at other online retailers.

So before bidding on anything at ebay do some price comparisons.

As i live in Brazil, the one i like most in here is the Ebay affiliate out here, its called Mercado Livre. Even tho i already bought stuff directly from Ebay, but it is too risky, they can confiscate it, and only make you pay the taxes or they send it back, and sometimes you dont even have the change to pay taxes.

But i think if lived in USA NewEgg would be my favorite, a shame they dont worldwide.

Who doesn't love to shop :) ? I surely do. My favorite online web store is Amazon.

I started shopping regularly (at least once per month) last year, in October. Back then I was looking for something nice for my own birthday :) and I have found a very cheap HDTV. At first I was not sure if I should order as the fees may be very high for my country but in the end, after I have compared the prices for the HDTV in my country and on Amazon, I ordered and got the TV in like 10 days.
Since then I have been shopping for a lot of different stuff, mostly tennis stuff: a tennis net, a bunch of tennis balls, tennis DVDs and racquets. :) Till now, Amazon is my favorite online store. Long live Amazon!

I also love to read through fatwallet.com in the hot deals forum. There are tons of great deals to be found there.

But there are times that a certain item doesn't even justified in the price tag, this means that that item is overpriced to the extent that it cannot be bought by an average person, and doubt the rich one will...

Items are sometimes overpriced on eBay, I agree with you. On the other hand you can often find goods and services on eBay for a much lower cost than at your local store. It is such a huge marketplace, that there are very low cost sellers for almost all products and services.

I compare Amazon and eBay for the best deal. Sometimes Amazon has higher prices but cheaper shipping. Sometimes eBay sellers offer free shipping. There is a feature on eBay to show you the cheapest price + shipping first. I still find better deals on eBay

I don't have experience with it, but from what I've heard Magento is awesome for big robust e-commerce sites, but overkill for simpler ones. Lemon Stand looks pretty cool. I've also heard good things about Shopify.

I personally feel that Mercado Livre is the best which is an Ebay affiliate. Buying directly from Ebay is a bit risky. NewEgg offers excellent services in US.

My favorite shopping site is Amazon. I always check Amazon first because in this very best discount offer available.For buying the book i use the ebay for the shopping.I use the shopping site because i hate the pay the tax & save ur time also.It requires only a few clicks of your mouse for shopping.

I like to do shopping online a lot and I have bought many things online. I like amazon for their books and I bought a laptop from walmart online and I once used wholesalepages.co.uk for a wholesale deal because I hosted a grand birthday party and needed the products in huge quantities, but walmart is still my no1 search list for anything online.

I am new to the online shopping space. Before I used to go for shopping in physical stores, specially for buying groceries. But recently I have started using the site called mygrahak (dot) com. This site is an online grocery store and has a huge product range starting from shampoos to edible oil to rice. I am now quite getting used to the online shopping for groceries mode. I think that's way more convenient than visiting physical stores and also saves time and journey.

I think this entirely varies from one region to another. For someone like me, I am a one-site-dedicated person. Meaning I shop from one site only. For me, mygrahak.com has clicked.

I'm a keen internet shopper as I live out in the sticks on Ireland so getting regularly to a good high street is sometimes difficult. Personally I would recommend sites such as www.asos.com (http://www.asos.com) for the big name brands, www.amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/) for electrical goods and www.groupon.ie (http://www.groupon.ie/) other excellent benefits.

it depends on shopping category of your needs. But shopping from big names is good, as they are famous for some reasons, Some listed above and i also prefer sears, macays, Shoebuy for shoes etc

Being famous is not the only thing you'll need to look for on an online store. You need to check if they are trustworthy enough for the services you need.

MY favorite site would be nike.com. That is where I get a lot of my basketball gear, shirts, and shoes. I normally order something from that site at least once every two months. However, I think I order more online from amazon because they have a larger variety of things to buy.

Sometimes it's really hard to know if the online store really is legit. Even big online stores like eBay has sellers that have issues like Deferred Dispute (http://letters.auctionbytes.com/cgi-bin/blog/blog.pl?/pl/2009/11/1257825855.html).
true, that's why not suggest to buy expensive product online. And always ask some opinion about the shop before buying expensive product

When I need to purchase anything, I go to Slickdeals.net first and see who has it on sale and what coupons are out there.
Honestly, I could spend hours on that site. They have a freebies forum, drug and grocery store forum, hot deals, travel, etc. I have found some amazing deals through this site.
