I recently read a post on freelancer blog which said that do no accept credit or debit card(not sure about debit card, anyone here?) payment from paypal users because credit card holder can reverse the transaction and can withdraw money even after you have got your money. No silly joke here.Serious.Inquire paypal and you will know i am not joking here.

Some people are reluctant to accept PayPal payments that are made through PayPal. Personally I've never had any problems, when I receive a PayPal payment I never check to see if it was from funds or by credit card. Perhaps I should!
I make PayPal payments myself through PayPal and I've never reversed a payment. A lot of people that I've bought from would have been down money if they adopted a policy of not accepting PayPal via credit card.

I thought you had to accept credit cards if you were dealing with sites like e-bay.

My advice to you is that if you are expecting large payments, do request the sender to use other modes of payment. If let's say you are expecting 1000+ sales, it would be risky to just use paypal. Request for wire transfer as this is much safer. Send black and white documentation (ie.contracts agreement) as it helps in disputes.

Hi, maybe you can also consider using Xoom service to receive the payment. I do not know which country you are from because Xoom can only receive money in certain countries. Maybe you can confirm with your buyer and make this request from him. I'm sure he will understand.

I don't think it's an issue here whether it's credit card payment or non credit card payment. What matters here is whether the people you are dealing with is credible or not. If he's a scammer, he can still perform a chargeback no matter how he decides to pay you.

But, how can we defend ourselves that we are not doing anything wrong. I am now accepting many payments but haven’t checked whether it come for credit cards or not.
There should be a best way how to avoid this problem. I believe that many people out there who are running online businesses and use paypal as payment mode have the good answers

Maybe if you insist on using paypal, then what you can do is, to use the paypal invoice system to request payment. State down why you are requesting for payment and include transaction sales details. When the buyer pays you according to invoice and if there's chargeback issue arises, use the invoice as your supporting documents.

As it was previously mentioned, for some people and their business, a credit card is crucial. Especially for some who is recovering from a bad credit report (http://stout.hampshire.edu/~iwf06/bad-credit.html) or something similar. Did anyone else have those experiences with PayPal and can share the information?

Hmmm. I have seen simular problems.
However with PayPal you get the choice to become verified. If you do this you are a lot better protected from scamming.
When you send money you can add a redeption code, which I guess gives you the money back.
