I have never actually used a website to decide what web hosting I should go with. I have hosting, however from a member from another forum. :) It is very good, and never goes down.
Actually I think he as a website now for the web hosting..... Oh yes. Here is the shared web hosting I am on: http://www.lacehost.com/shared-web-hosting.html
I recommend this hosting. :)

Hi Fraz, for web hosting advice have a look at our sister webmaster and web hosting forum (http://www.hostbidder.com/). There is a forum dedicated to web hosting discussion.

Buying the right web hosting solution is a very important decision. Whether your website is for an online business, an information resource, a discussion forum, or for sharing views on a hobby or interest; you must use a web hosting service that will allow everyone else to view your creation. It is web hosting that empowers you to share information, sell prodcuts and services, and interact with people through a web site. Trying to choose a web host can be a very confusing exercise, especially when you consider the growing number of web hosts and their confusing advertisements. Therefore, it is important that before jumping in, you go through some sort of a research process for selecting the most appropriate web hosting company for your Internet presence.
try this one..

I would recommend hostgator. The reason why this web hosting is the best are :
1. Hosgator have 24/7 support system, you can chat online with the support system or phone them.
2. This webhosting company have rich features for linux web hosting.
3. This web hosting company provide 600 GB of space and 6000 of GB of Bandwidth only 8 USD for the baby webhosting package.

I've personally used HostGator's live help system, and I'd have to say that the service is excellent. It provides very fast and expert help by knowledgeable operators. They were quite slow to set up my site, but this wasn't a big issue and I was happy to wait once I got the support I needed.

Yes I think is good webhosting provide, before you want to register your webhosting package, you can try the service. You can try the first month of hostgator service only 0.01 USD. This support system open 24/7. Hostgator use Cpanel for the hosting plan.

Yeah Hostgator is the best right now. And it's not that expensive, it's cheap. Only 7.95 / month for their most popular hosting. By looking at their services it's worth it!

I was also looking into 000webhost for free hosting. You can also earn money if you send visitors to their website - $5 for every registration. It was either 000webhost or OxyHost. I haven't decided yet. It seems that OxyHost is faster though when I access from Singapore.

Well I don't recommend free hosts. They are most of the time down. If you contact them, you don't get any response until 1 or 2 months. But free hosting is good for people who are setting small businesses.;)

Try http://www.lacehost.com/

Free hosting is definitely worth considering if you want to set up a small unimportant website, perhaps when you are getting your first website up and running.
I wouldn't recommend it for a business you are depending on however, whether the business be large or small. If something goes wrong with your business website it is very important to have good support, preferably 24hr support. You don't often get that with free hosting.

well fergal if that host is post to host then you have good support. so free hosts can also be good, provided they are dedicated. but most of the free hosts are resellers and they overshadow the good hosts. you need to find good hosts then you can use them for business too.

Most resellers are over filled on many accounts. A company sell master resellers, they sell master resellers, and so on. There ends up loads of shared accounts on one.
I would suggest sticking with those who offer just shared accounts.
