Mass E-mailing is the strategy used today by some company/individuals to achieve an extra potential in either their traffic or earnings. However, is it really useful today in this generation??
Majority of the internet users right now have spam protection in their e-mail.

The only way that bulk email is really effective is when you build your own list, using a double opt-in method, and have people that want to hear what you are offering them. Using crap like the off shore(non US) bulk mailers do for their subject lines is a waste and only opened by people that are useless as customers or very bored.
The double opt-in is when they sign up and then have to confirm their email by clicking a link in a verification email.

You need to be very careful if you are mass mailing potential customers. You may turn them against your company, with what they consider as SPAM, and do more harm than good to the image of your business.
I fully agree with pendelton's points on double opt-in lists.

Even with the double opt-in I think most people just scan the e-mail until they find the verification link to click on.That is if this is the method that I am thinking of where you get paid to read e-mail.

I have like 500,000 opt-in email addresses. I have resell rights to them also. However I have never actually sent any message what so ever using the email addresses nor have I used the mass emailer. I always thought it would bring negative thoughts towards my website.

If they have done a double opt-in, where you ask them to join your newsletter or get updates from you, then have them confirm again when they get the email, to make sure that it is theirs, there should be no negativity, since they asked for it. No, arelene, it isn't like the GPT stuff, they only verify once then every week, month, or what ever length of time you want you send them information, updates to your site, and that sort of thing.

Sending email is very good advertising to you website or resource. But not when it's like spam.

blueEew, hey buddy , why do u think that way man. In todays world it is one of the best advertising method adopted by many big leaders. And as u are telling u have reseller rights to the list so I think u should use it to promote ur product and site.Incase if u are not willing to use it then please help me out by giving that software to me.

Yes many use it, but it's not always effective as many go straight to the spam box, and are not even seen. With spam filters more effective than ever, I would think the companies would start looking at other ways to advertise

I have many experiences on mass mail previously. I used to send a few thousands email with a single click just to get many referrals. But, believe me this does not work. Most of emails provided by the seller are not valid at all and if it is, the majority cannot go through because most of companies have their own spamming filtration
Now, I use mass mail no more since I realize that it is immoral (sorry to say this)
