Many webmaster forums rely on this strategy to drive traffic to their website. I dont know much about this system, and can anyone please explain me in detail how to use those sites??

Members at webmaster forums will sometimes ask fellow members to give them a "Digg". The idea is to get their site highly rated on Digg and perhaps even get on to the Digg homepage. This will have the advantage of exposing the site or blog to a huge number of visitors to Digg and can hence substantially increase traffic to your site.

I'm not as familiar with Stumble Upon (http://www.stumbleupon.com/). However, I do know that the original founders of Stumble Upon sold the site to Yahoo for $75,000,000 in May of last year. Webmaster's also exchange Stumbles / Votes for their sites at various webmaster forums. You can view more details of Stumble Upon here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stumble_upon).

yeah fergal you are right but some of the webmaster forums a have been on want you to reffer people and by refering you can recive points or in somecases a small amount of money, if you do come across a site like this that gives you points and all that you are more likely to be moniterd closer for ip adress not makeing 2 acounts up all the rest of it, the problem is though people dont want to refer there friends cause if they do and they want to post on other peoples forums promoting say there freelance bissness... people will think that they are being cond cause they know each other or could be the same person.

hello,

social bookmarking is a cheap way to drive traffic to your websites there are some popular websites like Digg, StumbleUpon, technorati, delicious...
some persons will say that these websites are useless because they don't give real traffic to blogs or websites...I don't agree...I have tried these websites and my traffic has grown and it costs me nothing I have exchanged my links with other persons : digg exchange ( digg for digg ) or stumble exchange ( 1 stumble for 2 )...

so you can try digg or stumbleupon, but to frive good traffic to your websites you have to invest some time and money.

Social bookmarking sites are very much important to drive the traffic to your site.Yesterday I submitted one article on stumble upon and I got around 600 unique visitors on my site.
Digg also works similarly. You should use all the possible methods to increase the stats of your site.
