Microsoft's new Dublin data centre has opened at a cost $500 Million. The new Microsoft Data Centreoccupies over 300,000 Sq. Ft., covering almost 7 acres of land. Tens of thousands of servers will run Microsoft's online software services and represents part of Microsoft's commitment to and investment in cloud computing - a move from it's traditional model of selling software on CD's.
Microsoft employs about 1,200 full time staff in Dublin and this is Microsoft's first Mega Data Centre outside of the US.
