How much of the budget is actually going to be used on projects to help the people? Better education and salaries don't help if there are no jobs and the price of food goes up. They should devote a larger share to social security and projects to help with job creation.

...a salary hike of 15%...

...bank loans will be more expensive.

Is the salary hike for all workers?

Making bank loans more expensive is not a good way to encourage business investment and new business start ups. I wonder why they did that, in the midst of a global recession.

How is the recession affecting Pakistan?

Good point Fergel ! There is no point of making Loans more expensive ! Why would 1 take loan if he doesn't get good profit ? Being a Pakistani, the budget haven't brought in any positive change ! Another thing is that Pakistani Banks have been earning a good amount of money ! A banker gets the best Pay in Pakistan around $ 1200 a month with some incentives ! Labor class earns around $65 a MONTH in Pakistan:eek: which is quite low !

Pakistan would do great if the government would start offering cheap micro-loans. There is a large pool of talent in the country but they have very little support. You will often find that if you help those with no options that they will go out of their way to help you and repay you.

Yes, Pakistani people have got a really good amount of Talent ! I'm not sure if they would pay your loan :p:D !

Well, the government started easy loans for the people who had no options but it wasn't a good idea as people got greedy & they used some blackhat ways to get loan !

There isnt a single thing that was good in the budget, the whole nation was looking for something good this budget was the worst budget in the history of Pakistan. In Pakistan agriculture sector has no tax on them and agriculture people the most riches people in Pakistan.

Pakistan's topmost priority has got to be the security and political stabalization of the country. It is most unfortunate that Pakistan has experienced huge problems in recent times. Even an excellent budge will have minimal impact, if the country is insecure and politically unstable.

What is your opinion on US involvement in Pakistan, is it helpful? What are the motives behind US involvement?
