Here are some of the biggest mistakes newbies make. If you are a newbie and making any of these mistake, its time to take your lesson.

This post is for people who are just planning to enter into an online business and want to make money online. With the economy going south and the more and more job losses everyday, this post can be helpful for those people.

So, have a look:

1. Not believing that money can be made online.
2. Assuming that making money online is very easy.
3. Giving up too early (actually, at a time when you are just going to make it).
4. Starting a “how to make money online blog.”
5. Buying all those “make quick money” ebooks for $10 to $100 each on digital point forum.
6. Starting many things together and loosing enthusiasm in completing them.
7. Creating an e-commerce site (based on BANS etc.) of hundreds of pages and assuming sales will come.
8. Entering into a niche which they know nothing about. Just entered because it is a profitable niche.
9. Targeting very generic niches and not giving much attention to long tail keywords.
10. Not having anybody for their help (its not their mistake, but still).
11. Not willing to spend any money or actually spending too much money (without know that it will produce results or not).
12. Assuming that they are clever than search engines/advertisers and breaking their TOS.
13. Using those link farms to get easy links.
14. Spamming social networking sites and then getting banned.

These are the few which are coming to my mind right now. Do you know some more and would like to add here, please add them.

That's a great list magician661. I'd add the following;

Failing to plan - don't just rush in with the first idea that comes to mind, without a clear plan as to how the business will run and you will make money from it. Write out at least a basic plan outlining what you will be selling, how you are going to offer and deliver it, how you are going to promote your business and how you will generate revenue & profits.

Not giving due consideration as to why people would buy from you and not your competitors. What's unique or special about your product service that would encourage potential customers to buy from you rather than your competitors? What's your competitive advantage.

This is truly a great list magician661...
I have also started my dream of making some money online last september..Here is one more tip from my experience..( though it is not much but still I have learn't this valuable lesson..)

-Make up your mind to bear losses in the beginning..Don't rid yourself too soon if you are making losses in the very beginning..Profits & Losses are part of business..Most of the newbie give up soon after they incurred losses in their deal....
I have myself had incurred a loss of about $60 till now in a span of just 8 months.....With $40 loss coming in very first 3 months without any significant income...But still I am trying today & losses are reducing slowly..hope someday i will be in profits;;;;;:)

Great list, I couldn't agree more. I think #4 and #8 are really key, as I see tons of these all the time. Do what you know and love. Making money is not impossible, but it is not easy and it takes time.

Great job guys, I could completely identify myself with scifi ..
But I never gave up..
Generally, newbies go to the verge of field, which is completely different from their field of interest. Even, this is a major reason that they have to bear huge losses ..

So, newbies .. others might be good at that, but may be that's not your cup of tea..
Always stick to your field of interest .

I guess you wrote some great notes there. I will add some,

- Posting in wrong section, example: Hello, i'm newbie, take care in Money Making Section.
- Trying to post same topic without reading other topic.
- Posting without reading FAqs and posting questions related to it.
- Interrupting other post with negative feedbacks.
- Posting most times with " thank you " words.
- Trying to know fast about Money making technique.
- Try to act as if they know everything but questions how to make money online, lol.

Ok, wanna see some more as well from others!

I agree. I will admit that i have stuff like this before. I bought a few ebook's on DP to find they are just uterly piece of junk. I have also made a dozen forums and given up. forumhotline. co.uk is one of them... But thing is. I usually after a month give up because i think this just is not going to happen... what was i thinking im not going to earn anything off this. But ofcourse reading some of them it and from other sources it does take time to get a big community and it does now happen instantly.

I thought that only really good people who knew how to blackhat were able to get money online but no.. I earn money doing forum posting and just find jobs on DP that people will pay you to do. Pretty easy and simple, and if you think about it , cash maby little but your still earning and its a start... Im hoping to get my monthly income on net to grow abit more as i get more experianced etc etc

Thanks for the lists

Good to know that I can be identified with someone..LOL!!!!;)..I have never thought it in this way..

Hi!panaache
Welcome to the BAF- community..

You have truly identified the biggest mistake often committed by newbies i.e. choosing the wrong niche..Even I have done the same..BUT my experience says more familiar niches teach you ways to handle your own niche more efficiently as it could be possible that you could not find relevant material & references suitable to your niche in the beginning. On the other hand material related to popular niche can be easily found out in plentiful on the net,,,!>
