I didn't want to take that other thread off topic so will ask here about this part.

- Video marketing: A couple of months ago, I had a client askingme some questions about promoting her website. She was working DAMN hard, doing link building and everything I could imagine of. She even spend on PPC. But what she did not do was video marketing. Seeing the nature of her website, I recommended her to grab some funny pictures, make a slideshow/ video and put it up on Youtube with a call-to-action at the end and do passive promotion. Her first couple of videos weren't a hit, but finally she had success - and one of her video had 25,000+ views and that gave her around 10,000 uniques in a week. You may do the same thing. :-)

Swastik, I wanted to ask about the video marketing. Do you think they have staying power once they fall off the main page in their category? What is it that catches people's eye? You Tube covers such an enormous variety of topics so how do you get yours to stand out? I don't know much about this subject at all and would be interested in hearing more. Thanks!

Hi Kay,

When we upload a video on Youtube, we are allowed to attach some tags, and also give a title to the video. That's where it works, as far as my experience goes.

What happens is when we do a little research on the long-tail keywords that people are searching for with low competition (I outsource that work to KateD) , and use them wisely in our heading and tags - When people search that on Youtube or Google, the video should come up.

And that's where we get views. For an example, for a website related to WWE superstars, if someone uploaded videos of recent matches, people will search for it, and if their video appears there they'll get the exposure they want. :)

What does this do?? all these website which stream these videos have my URL on them now.. SO I get lots of backlinks too...:D

Thanks for the details, Swastik, that's much appreciated. Who knew eh? Not me anyway. That makes a lot of sense when you explain it like that. You're a smart cookie! Thanks again. :D

Ohh now that sounds sneaky. :p Yet it works for you! I'm not smart enough about how Youtube works to understand that exactly but I'll look out for that! :)
