Read this blog post (http://www.mulley.net/2009/01/16/****-the-recession-links-to-think-about/), if you're looking for some inspiration to start your business, during these recessionary times.

If you're planning on starting a business take a moment to write down the following;

1. What's the most useful thing you could do right now, for your new business? This can be a very quick task, but make it specific.
2. What's the most useful thing you could do tomorrow?
3. What's the most useful thing you could do the next day?

Complete the task from No. 1. Do it now, what's stopping you?

I like his style! That's what's needed, a bit more of the fiery speeches to energise people. I stopped and did something I was going to do all day thanks to that. :)

I visit his blog Mulley.net (http://www.mulley.net/) regularly. Being Irish, the blog is probably of more interest to Irish people. However, he regularly publishes very useful and practical posts on topics such as starting a business, blogging and online marketing.

I've been to several forums, and it seems Internet has been least effected. In fact people are selling information products on "How to be in profits during recession?". Obviously hot topic, and it's selling.

There's one common thing with many newbies who want to earn money on the internet - they read everything, collect information for months (or even years) and never take action. Taking action, as that post mentioned, is of prime importance to any business, be it online or offline, be it recession or the economy being healthy.

There is a story we read when we were in Grade 4. Here it goes:

There were some farmers in a village. They worked hard for their families, and everything was going well. One day, they heard from God that there will be no rain for upcoming 12 years. Everyone of them gave up their work, and sat it utter disbelief that they can't do anything since it was God himself who came to them and told them about it.

One of them continued to do hard work, going to his fields and doing all to care that it did not turn into a bad-land after 12 years. He did this for months when one day God asked him Why he was doing it? He told the truth that he can't sit on home and let his fields die (or something like that). Then RAIN CAME and he was the only one who could benefit because other's fields had either died or were unproductive.

Moral of the story? Don't give up in adverse situations. :)

I agree, take action. So far, January has been my best month in terms of monetization, so although there may be a recession it has not hit me or my niche. Now is the time to further capitalize on things... lay the foundation now so that when the economy recovers you are ready to go full-throttle.

F**k the Recession. When I first saw that thread, the first thought on my mind is that it's spam that needs to be deleted. How badly wrong I am.

By the way, whatever you do don't bookmark his blog. I repeat don't bookmark his blog. Bookmarks are evil. His blog is evil! :D

That's some bit of contrarian way of thinking and some bit of reverse psychology but it seems to work. It makes you all fired up to go into full throttle and do something. Don't just go there moping or feeling sorry and sad because of the recession, do something, anything.
