View Full Version : Will you be sending festive ecards to clients?

Today I got in an e-card from someone who'd done a little work for me earlier in the year thanking me for it and wishing me all the best for next year.
I thought that was nice and will be doing the same thing for the first time this year myself. Funny I didn't think about it before and yet I'd have mailed one automatically if I'd had their physical address. I'll also do the same for the writers that contribute articles to Cuckleburr to say thanks.
Do you do this? I'm curious how common that is. I think it's probably best to stick with a more general Happy Holidays or Festive Greetings type message in case any of the recipients don't celebrate Christmas. Would you like to get one from someone you'd employed previously? I can't see why anyone wouldn't but am asking before I start on mine. :)

It is nice to get an ecard from someone especially if it is personalised in some way, it shows that they are thinking of you and wishing you well. Saying that, It's not as nice as getting a real card in the post.

I've always made it a point to send cards to my customers but not e-cards. I'd have to agree with Fergal and I guess I'm a little old-fashioned because I still think that real cards are still better because they're more personal than e-cards.
What did you feel after getting the e-card, Kay? I would assume that you would have been glad in receiving it. In that case, your customers and people in your network would also feel the same if you send them one.

I agree with you both, I prefer the real thing too. On a practical level though, I work 95% online for clients all over the world and all dealings have been online. I've never had a need for their physical addresses. If I had them, I'd send a real card first and an e-card second but would still rather send an e-card than not at all now.
That card gave me an "Aww that was nice of them" moment, Nazreen. While it could just be a clever self marketing ploy to bring them to the forefront of my mind (which succeeded), it still shows a bit of thoughtfulness and courtesy.

Hi Kay !!
I think that sending a customized interactive & nice e- card on festive occasion like this is really very nice & different way of greeting anyone... may be your customers, client, or employer etc..
Well imagine that you are getting a nice show of lights, music, jingle bells & that too at few clicks of mouse.. it's really feel much more impressive & great...
