Every so often you see something so cool it could be right out of Star Trek and this has to be one of those ideas. It's a speaker system that projects a virtual keyboard onto any flat surface. Different surfaces give it different tonal qualities. For sheer impressiveness, I like it. :D

Impressive features indeed. I wonder what the sound quality would be like?

I tried searching if there are any videos of the "Brooch Sound System" in youtube but couldn't find any. Wish I could listen to some videos on this.

This reminds me of those old western cowboy and indian movies who would put their ears on the ground and listen. They would then be able estimate how many and how far their enemies are... simply amazing!

If you were living in a flat or apartment, wouldn't your neighbors be able to hear the sounds too?

Hey! thats totally cool thing guys!!!!
I wonder what will be the cost price of this product...
It's great product with features that can help us to make ur own music system without worry of seeking out place to keep one....
Also if someone is having problem with speakers, it can be packed immediately without the imagination of anyone that there was music going on at the place!!!! I think everybody can understand this...

Well on further reading I've found out it's based around an old speaker concept called Soundbug which apparently failed because people didn't like the different sound quality varying on different surfaces. Which I thought was the whole point of it, but anyway, here's some more information. :)

The Brooch on the Wall Old Soundbug Concept, Now with a Projection Keyboard. (http://news.softpedia.com/news/The-Brooch-on-the-Wall-Old-Soundbug-Concept-Now-with-a-Projection-Keyboard-97486.shtml)

Not sure about the neighbors, Nazreen. I guess that depends on volume like ordinary sound systems.

I still think it's interesting and to answer you, scifi, it might not be as expensive as it looks since according to this article the Soundbug speakers were cheap.

And you could hide it by throwing a coat over it and using it as a hanger. ;)

I haven't heard about that in past. But it really sounds good. I wonder how popular is it among masses.
