Can't upload avatar in .jpg format

When I try to upload avatar in .JPG i see : Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imagecreatefromjpeg()
and avatar is not saved.

With avatars in .gif everythink is OK.

What was the jpg size? Avatars can only be 19.5 kb.

I meant to ask about this. When I went to User CP>Edit avatar, it just has "do not use an avatar" prechecked with no way to change that. Is it a permissions issue or do we just not use them in posts here? I just realized no one has one. Thanks! :)

Key, if you click the other radio buttons it does change.

You also have to stay in the size rules.

How were you able to upload your avatar Pendelton? It is the same with me, I don't see any options to upload an avatar and can only see the text "do not use an avatar".

Maybe it's different for you because you're a premium member.

Click the Use Custom Avatar radio button. Then either browse your system to get your avatar or enter the URL of where one is located.

Thanks for trying to help, pendelton. I knew that was the usual way it worked but I don't have that option. There's no other radio buttons. This is what mine looks like and Nazreen's is probably the same by the sounds of it. Just to show you I'm not completely nuts! LOL. :)

The max avatar size is 80 x 80 - is that big enough?

As you can see it's working. :) Thanks, Fergal! I think 80x80 maximum is fine. The biggest I ever set it to is 100x100 but no larger.
