I am all set to start a biotechechnology related website
the website is about the latest news.research and thesis of different universities around the world.
I am also planning to include all the assays and protocols for different experiments like cloning, genesequencing and etc into the website
I amlooking for a .com domain, without numbers in it and should have the keyword biotech in it
thanks in advance for your suggestions:D

Why don't you try Biotechnology-News.com? At the time of this writing, the domain name is still available. Most domain names on biotechnology are already registered.

Will you only consider .com domains or will you also consider other TLD's. What about the following which appear to be available.
biotechblog.biz
biotechblog.info
biotechday.net / .org / .biz / .info
daybiotech.com / .net / .biz / .info
biotechnologyday.net / .biz / .info / .org
thebiotechtimes.com / net / .org / .biz / .info
biotechtimes.net / .org / .biz / .info
biotechnow.net / .biz / .info
biotechopinion.com / .net / .org / .biz / .info
Good luck with it and please let us know what you decide on.

In my opinion, biotechnology is a stronger keyword than biotech. For people who will be using google or other search engines to look up the word "biotechnology", they would have a lesser chance of seeing your website if your domain name only contains biotech. On the other hand, those who google the word "biotech" would still have a good chance of hitting on a website with a domain name of biotechnology because the word biotech is still inside of it. Anyway, just my 2 cents. It's still up to you to make that decision. :)

According to DigitalPoint's keyword suggestion tool (http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion/) for searches in the US "biotechnology" was searched 315 times per day and "biotech" 266 times per day.

I used the wordtracker and adwords I got the following results
biotech 336 and using google I got 33,100
biotechnology 450 and for this I got 40,120
So Nazreen was right but my biotech mind said otherwise!! Now I am confused what to choose more any way I have found a few names
thebiotechblogger.com
probiotechblog.com
biotechpool.com
biotechelix.com
biotechknowhow.com
biotechstrand.com
biotechstrain.com

I like biotechstrain.com and biotechpool.com from your list above.
Have you considered brandable domains that do not have the word biotech or biotechnology in them?
You also need to be conscious of the fact that someone else might see the domains you suggest and register them before you do. Hopefully this is unlikely but you never know.

for the creative there is one more last option always!! So I dont see anyone registering all the domains here even if he does it will be useless without content !!most of the people doing online business are not exactly good at biotech hehe

Very good point, I've sometimes heard people express the view that they had a super domain and because of that no one could compete with them. Like you say, the truth is that there is always an option.
