why is that corporates not everyone but most of them neglect this aspect of their business. This can be seen when you look at a simple aspect as paycheck of different managers within the company!! While a finance or account managers get a seven figure sum in most of the cases the HR managers are left counting the peanuts . Corporates are really underestimating the revenue a good HR department can bring.Generally, in the past within many companies ,“HR Management” was viewed as nothing more than the administrative process of dealing with such mundane personnel matters as hiring workers, providing transportation and meals services, the processing of housing, medical and social insurance benefits, and maintaining good labor relations with workers. While the administration of these activities was and still is important to business, HR Management generally was not seen as helpful in delivering upon business strategy nor something that could help a company differentiate itself or provide a competitive advantage to the company.

companies have to realise that the role of HR Management today has really become the strategic management of the organization’s employee talent in support of the business mission and objectives. It is a role which can help to set the stage for being able to achieve the business strategy for the organization through understanding how to best utilize its strongest and most competitive asset – its people.

Hiring the right talent and Retaining the hired talent is the most difficult job in any industry right now!! For we are in the knowledge economy where mental prowess matters. Any company which negelects its HR will pay the price!! You can decide whether your company needs a HR Department which is not motivated, under payed or under qualified.

A factory of unmotivated workers is not going to take your business anywhere get your HR right!! Give the HR managers perks and motivate them get your perks and paycheck higher than the competitor so you get the best of talent !! As they say you always get what you pay for!! Give the HR managers his due and he will give your company the breath of fresh air it needs to go full throttle into the future!!!

HR is extremely important as hiring, directing and motivating the right people is critical to a business' success.

I once read a book about Google (The Google Story by David Vise (http://www.amazon.com/Google-Story-Hottest-Business-Technology/dp/0553383663/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1220943371&sr=8-1)) and the author claimed that the most competitive area between Google and Microsoft was in the challenge of attracting the top graduates to work for their company. These major corporations spend a huge amount of money competing against each other, to get the best people to work for them.

Despite being champions of training their staff and searching for ideal candidates to fill up positions in their company, most HR staffs also neglect their careers. Anyway, that's what I read from one newspaper article before. They are so focused on their staffs' training and development that they forgot all about their careers. Maybe this is also one of the reasons why HR staff are not getting what's due to them.

I've heard about cobblers' shoes, and plumbers' taps, but neglected HR careers is a new one on me :)

Interesting observation Nazreen!

All the companies must treat all their employees in the same way. Before knowing this information i was just thinking that HR guys will be paid much. Personally i used to curse the HR guys for rejecting some of the candidates in the interview. But knowing their pathetic condition, i really pitty them. They are the ones who select the right candidate for the company. So they should be paid well.

Well work of HR starts from hiring people to managing them. For every 200 people 2 Hr are their to handle them. From this you could see the importance of HR.
