Most of the gamers I know say that graphics don’t influence at all while they play. They say it’s all about skill and imagination, that “graphics just enhance the experience a bit”. I’m pretty sure that in the videogaming industry, there are 2 different sections (at least) that separate the graphics work from programming but in the end they are still part of the same team, so is gameplay actually a consecuence of graphics?

I think graphics is as important as the play especially now in our very techi world. Games with high quality graphics will surely gain more fame than those with low quality graphics that is why 3D games is very famous to gamers.

I'm not a gamer myself. But having seen the amazing graphics on the most popular games I would firmly believe that the quality of these graphics has a major impact on the game's popularity. The level of realism that these graphics entail will obviously make playing the game a much more enjoyable experience.
It would be extremely difficult for a new game that did not have this level of graphics to compete with the major players in the gaming industry.

I am also a gamer and I know the importance of graphics in a game.I am mostly influenced by the graphics effects of the game. The more realthe game looks the better it is.

Aside from being an avid manga reader, I also had been an online gamer before. One of my criteria in choosing games is that it shouldn't give me a headache, if it does then I just chuck it aside and play another one. Usually, games that have bad graphics and FPS games give me headaches so I usually stay away from these. Saying this, good graphics and good gameplay are essential for all games in my opinion. Added to these, it would also be good if there is a good storyline behind the game.

ya i agree with Nazreen on fps note..I am basically a counter strike player and i know how much is fps important in those games..as low fps gives an added advantage to your opponent..

FPS are First Person Shooter games. I normally avoid these games because they give me a headache.

i agree i started planning games with the nintendo console (1985 model),I think I got to play it in 1991. I was quite addicted to playing games since then, the games then were not visually stunning they were simple DOS games.
I still have dave, roadrash and speedracer in my computer these are games from the 90's and they still make me wanna play so there must be no relation between graphics and game play!!!
I think you are correct!!

Well, I do indeed believe that graphics do not determine how good a game is. For example, look at the game "Runescape." The graphics are... par, and yet the gameplay is amazing, and there are literally thousands of things to do! Yet, many people take one look at the graphics and turn away instantly... It's sort of shallow, don't you think?

Welcome to Business Advice Forum Hisho.
I can see your point that it is a bit shallow to be so focused on quality graphics when it comes to gaming. There are lots of great games that don't need a computer at all, such as board games and party games that people can play together and have the benefit of socialising with each other. However, when most people start playing games on a computer they expect the latest and most modern graphics, maybe it's a form of escapism?
