"As the SponsoredTweets marketplace has grown, so too has the diversity and xpectation of our customer base," said Ted Murphy, CEO of SponsoredTweets parent company IZEA.
He said also :
"Social referrals are taking market share from sponsored search, and advertisers are looking for an easy, self-service system to purchase performance-based sponsored tweets - similar to how they buy CPC AdWords today. SponsoredTweets is that solution, allowing anyone to try twitter advertising with an engaging message and a small budget - only paying for tweets that deliver visitors."
IZEA is a world leader in social media sponsorship, operating multiple marketplaces such as SponsoredTweets, SocialSpark and Sponzai. Our mission is to empower everyone to value and exchange content, creativity and influence. IZEA is venture funded by Inflexion Partners, Village Ventures, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, and DFJ Gotham Ventures.

That's pretty cool. I wonder how much your fee per tweet would be if you had over a million followers? I would try this out but I'm anti twitter. It's just one of those sites I refuse to be a part of. I think it because celebrities piss me off and they're the ones that made twitter huge.

fletcher6490 when using Twitter you only see content from people you chose to follow. If you don't follow celebrities you won't even know they are there. You can confine yourself to following only people that interest you and who post interesting tweets.

Personally I would want a lot more than that to post a sponsored tweet :-) I feel funny about sending ads in tweets and have done it only a few times as part of a large sponsorship agreement. But I'm funny that way and probably shoot myself in the foot sometimes... like I have a really hard time sending out solo ads to my list.

Fergal, I think it was like 2 years ago and I heard some celebrity(I think it was Lady Gaga) talking about twitter and I decided right there that I will never sign up for twitter. Haha, I'm pretty stubborn. I promote a couple of different programs and I won't even use twitter as a promotional tool. It's just one of those things.

Not weird at all.... In that case, I shoot myself in the foot constantly..... I wouldn't want to tweet an ad either... I don't even like it when a service I connect and use posts a tweet that I'm using it. :)

Honestly fletcher6490, I find your approach difficult to understand. Maybe I'm misunderstanding something, but you are saying that you won't use Twitter because celebrities use it? If you were to apply that approach to everything in your life, you wouldn't do anything.

We've used to buy a few Twitter followers for multiple Twitter profiles and they always over-delivered on the number of followers that we purchased by up to 30% of extra followers. After campaigns were over, newer visitors to our Twitter profile are more willing to follow than before, because they see that we're being followed by over 10,000 followers.

Hahaha, that's not it at all. I guess some would call me a bit stubborn, so when I first heard about twitter(it just so happened to be a story about lady gaga using it) I decided to myself that I would never join because I was annoyed. I suppose that day I was probably a little sick of hearing about celebrities and how perfect their lives are. I don't know, it was just something that I said I would never join and I still haven't.
There really is not a valid reason as to why I wont join twitter, it's just one of those things:)

I am a member there. I got 11,500+ followers on Twitter. I charge 10USD per tweet, but still no profit yet.

Why did you not get a profit Joel, was it because people did not purchase your tweets at $10 each?
